About Me

Hello and welcome to my little space on the internet!!!

I am a keen photographer, beginner sewist and foodie who has made the transition from life in sleepy Suffolk to the big city of London. My favourite way to spend the weekend is by returning to my roots in the countryside for some home cooked meals and doggie cuddles! When not in the countryside I am often to be found eating lunch or perusing the shops of London.

If you follow me expect to find posts on London eateries, fun day trips, Suffolk life and learning to use a sewing machine plus much much more!

What camera do you use?

All my blog posts until December 2015 were taken on my trusty Canon 1200D. This is an entry level DSLR and has a really reasonable price tag. I mainly use the 24mm pancake lens and 50 mm 1.8 lens. I have very recently upgraded my 50 mm lens to the 1.4 as it gives the most beautiful blurry backgrounds. For a real look at what it can do take a look at my Mum’s photos over on Peonies & Posies, they are truly stunning!

However, I have been incredibly lucky recently and received the Olympus Pen EPL7 for my birthday and Christmas. I am sure that I will get more and more use of this camera as I get used to it. The idea is that it will compliment my Canon by being significantly lighter, the perfect handbag camera and it will go everywhere with me! At the moment it has a pancake zoom lens but I really hope that I will be able to get the 40mm prime lens at some point in the not to distant future.

I also take the occasional photo on my iPhone but this is much less common!

What do you do for a living?

I’m currently working as a trainee solicitor in London and I absolutely love it! That said it does mean I am very busy and can leave little time for blogging! I do my absolute best and rest assured if you do drop me a message I will definitely reply, it just might take a few days if I am particularly busy. However, your messages absolutely make my day so please do send them!!
